Who Can Apply?

VIBES welcomes high school students from across Washington who are passionate about learning, growth, and leadership. While all grade levels are encouraged to apply, priority will be given to sophomores, juniors, seniors, and first-time participants.

 

Students from all backgrounds are welcome, but the conference centers the experiences of Black youth and the Black student community.

  • What We're Looking For

    We’re looking for students who:

    • Are curious about college and want to explore new opportunities
    • Are committed to uplifting their community
    • Want to grow as leaders and changemakers
    • Are ready to step into a space that celebrates culture, identity, and resilience
  • What happens after you apply?

    After submitting your application, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Our team will review all applications and notify students of their acceptance status about two weeks before the conference. If you’re not selected, you’ll be placed on a waitlist and may still be invited if space opens.

  • Conference Fee

    There is a registration fee for accepted participants. This fee covers meals, lodging, transportation, and all conference materials.

    Fee waivers are available for students with financial need. You’ll have the option to request one in your application—please don’t let the cost prevent you from applying.

    Only students who are officially accepted will submit payment.

  • What You'll Need to Apply

    Before starting your application, be prepared to provide:

    • Basic contact info and GPA
    • T-shirt size and dietary needs
    • Preferred pick-up location
    • Emergency contact information
    • Optional roommate preferences
    • Responses to two short essay questions
